Wake County must face the EVAAS facts
With its new school board Wake County Commissioners and board members must objectively and unflinchingly look at the data.
Wake low-income and minority students are not being positioned for college because they are not on tracks that lead them to completing Algebra I in 8th grade.
For all the criticism hurled at the new school board in Wake County, it is high time real data be used to analyze and then address the poor performance of Wake's low-income and minority students.
It's just a shame that groups like the North Carolina NAACP would rather use this issue of community schools and Wake's "diversity policy" to grandstand than to put on its thinking cap and brainstorm solutions.
